Wheelchair bike for Max

The bike which comes with an electric motor to help with hills, allows Max to exercise outdoors and take part in family activities.

Elifar has part-funded a specialist wheelchair bike for 14-year-old Max who has severe learning, communication and physical disabilities. Elifar helped to buy the £7,360 bike, contributing £3,860 to top up funds raised by the family from a variety of supporters.

Max’s mum wrote: “We had a lovely evening ride around the village today. Unfortunately Max never understands why we stop to take pictures and it’s hard to get him to look at the camera and smile but let me assure you he has loved the rides. We went to a pub last Saturday and took the wheelchair off in order to sit at a table have a meal. Max’s siblings love that we can ride as a family. Many thanks again.”
