Lightweight wheelchair for Alfie

"This wheelchair is going to be life changing for him”

Alfie is 5 years old and has Spina Bifida. He needs adult help with personal care and cannot walk. He is able to crawl and pull himself along with his arms. He is a determined little boy and would love to pursue wheelchair basketball when he is older.

The NHS supplied wheelchair is heavy and bulky. Elifar were able to contribute £1,500 towards a lightweight wheelchair costing £4,894.

Alfie can transfer in and out of this wheelchair by himself, boasting his independence and self-esteem. It has an off-road attachment which allows the family to go on dog walks and visits to the park.

His mum says “Alfie is very pleased with the new chair and immediately got in and was whizzing around. Again a massive, big thank you to everyone involved. I can already tell this wheelchair is going to be life changing for him”.
