Elifar Helps Brothers Wilson and Sammy

The new chairs provide them with the support they need to maintain their quality of life.

Meet Wilson & Sammy

Brothers Wilson and Sammy are amazing young men coping with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy), a rare genetic neuromuscular condition and were facing extremely difficult and challenging circumstances.

Elifar had the great pleasure of contributing funds to the brothers for new power chairs. These chairs were in much need, as their existing ones were cracking and falling apart to the point where Sammy fell out of his and had to be hospitalised for 2 weeks with a broken femur. Wheelchair Services had indicated a wait of around 1 year to even consider their cases.

Finally, after a long struggle the funding came together, and we are very happy to advise they now have their incredible new ‘state of the art’ chairs. They retain their incredible independence, quality of life and busy social schedules whilst being extra safe and supported and without the worry of repair costs and continual stress and upheaval.

Sammy runs an SQL database system and Wilson is at the University of Liverpool doing his Master’s Degree in Data Science and AI Technology.
