Eaton House The Vale fundraise at Christmas

On 12th December 2011, the staff and pupils at Eaton House the Vale had a very special visit from father Christmas.

He spent the day meeting the children in his grotto, whilst his little helpers (the Eaton House The Vale Charity Committee) set up a wonderful workshop full of Christams Arts and Crafts.

The event was an enormous success and raised approximately £1,500 which was donated to The ELIFAR Foundation, their chosen charity.

Lunson Mitchenall Annual Charity Bike Ride 2011

The second annual Lunson Mitchenall Cycle Challenge has raised over £6,000 for disability charity the ELIFAR Foundation, after 45 people took part in the event which saw them saddle up and cycle 88 miles from London to Portsmouth.

Cyclists from companies including Canary Wharf, Tesco, Land Securities, Hammerson, Crew Clothing, CSC and Oxford Properties took part in the challenge which has become an annual event. The teams set off from Lunson Mitchenall’s Regent Street office and finished at Gunwharf Quays shopping and leisure complex at Portsmouth harbour after an exhausting journey which took keen cyclists between seven and a half and 10 hours.

The ELIFAR foundation works to improve the quality of life of profoundly disabled children and young adults. Run almost entirely by volunteers, the charity funds the purchase of a wide range of specialised equipment, therapies and respite for vulnerable youngsters.

Simon Marriott, Senior Vice President , Managing Director – Investments Europe, Oxford Properties Group said:The Lunson Mitchenall Cycle Challenge is an excellent event, which is thoroughly enjoyed by all participants, the camaraderie and encouragement from the support teams and fellow riders is incredible, I loved every minute of it!”

Stuart Fyfe, Director at Lunson Mitchenall commented: We were very fortunate with the weather on the day, and were especially pleased to have attracted such a diverse crowd of cyclists who worked extremely hard to go the extra mile for a charity which does fantastic work throughout the country.”

The Royal School Fundraise for the ELIFAR Foundation

The Royal SChool, based in Hampstead, teaches girls between the ages of 4 to 16 years of age. This year they have been busy fundraising for local chairities which are chosen by each class.

Their fist fundraising event was a fireworks display which raised an amazing £840. When Year 5 children were asked to choose a charity to receive this money, it was thanks to a heartwarming presentation by Elle Coleman that ensured the Elifar Foundation were chosen.

Jane Landy, Trustee of the foundation visitied the school in February 2012 to talk to the children about the work that we do here t the foundation and to be presented with the cheque from the children.

‘Thank you to Everyone at the Royal School !’
